Atalaya Golf owes much of its allure and attractiveness to the fact that it was built in 1968, before the plethora of golf urbanisations in Estepona urbanisation started to be developed which saw courses springing throughout the Costa del Sol. Dedicated staff preserved the quality of the courses through the years and have also created a perfect ambience around the clubhouse with cool fountains surrounded by well maintained flowers and gardens. Atalaya Golf - Lion Trust PropertyWith the spectacular Sierra Blanca mountain range in the background its two impressive 18-hole courses: the Atalaya Old Course and the Atalaya New Course,  are lined with mature palms and eucalyptus trees  and cacti and there is the wonderful fragrance of azaleas and other tropical flowers. Atalaya Golf resort holidays can be enjoyed by all.

Atalaya Golf - The Old Course was designed by Bernard von Limburger, who was the 1925 German Golf Championships victor.  He became his Germany’s prominent golf course architect of the time.  The championship course has wide fairways and big, raised greens  which is challenging to golfers of all levels. It is established and mature and enjoys stunning views of the impressive La Concha mountain.  It is it's an ideal oasis of tranquillity on the Costa del Sol that is generally bustling and lively. Its seemingly benign parkland facet with gradually sloping fairways makes it a great course for the regular} club golfer, but at the same time, the abundance of deep bunkers full of glistening marmolina sand, its fast greens, and well maintained fairways lined with olive, pine, cactus and eucalyptus trees provide a decent test even to low single-figure players.
