30 days - it’s actually very hard to believe!
Today the Spanish government relaxed the lock down restrictions and some non-essential professions were able to return to work. Construction workers were included in those and I noticed the chinking of hammers from my Swedish neighbour’s house reform.
Real estate is still in lock down and there is no indication of when we will be allowed to operate and show properties. I have spoken with a few clients with plans to come in May. I would love to think that is possible but feel it’s a bit hopeful.
I mentioned to you previously that Tarifa and particularly Bolonia are amongst my favourite places to visit here in Andalucia. I first visited Bolonia in ’94 with Hessia, my then girlfriend, now wife. To this day it is one of the most magical places I know. I can only imagine how amazing the Roman city of Baelo Claudia just set off the idyllic beach must have been. Baelo Claudia is one of the most well preserved and significant Roman archeological sites in Andalucia. Baelo Claudia dates back to the Republican period of the 2nd century BC and was a strategic point for trade routes between Europe and North Africa. The extensive ruins include the temple, forum, basilica, baths and fish salting factory can all be seen today.
We must have been there close to 100 times, the last time being just a month ago. But this past weekend the beach had visitors of a different kind!!!
Keep safe,
Anthony
